Squeakectomy

Noun.

Surgical removal of the squeaky, plastic bit of a (typically) soft toy. Usually performed by a curious–or annoyed–pet.

A small incision was made just behind the right front leg of the hedgehog, and the squeaker carefully removed. Although the incision was not closed up, the hedgehog appears none the worse for wear–it still just lies there, all saggy looking, much the same as it did prior to the operation.
